Airfares are affected by many factors such as flight route, airline, flight time and ticket type you choose. When booking a ticket, you should pay attention to additional fees and taxes.
The formula for calculating ticket prices includes:
Ticket price = Basic ticket price (net price or fare) + VAT + Fees (security fee, airline management fee, ticket issuance fee).
The ticket price you see when searching for a flight is the price excluding tax (net price). Usually, the ticket price includes 7kg of carry-on baggage. However, checked baggage is usually not included in super-saver or promotional tickets of airlines.
You can change your flight date, flight time or itinerary, but you must comply with the regulations of the ticket type you purchased. When you do this, there will usually be a service fee and a fare difference that you need to pay:
- For VietJet Air, Skyboss tickets are free to change. Other types of tickets will have a change fee.
- For Jetstar, if you choose a FlexiPack or Optimal Package ticket, you will not have to pay a change fee. Other types of tickets will have a fee.
- For Vietnam Airlines, Flexible Business and Flexible Economy tickets are both free to change, while other classes will have a fee.
- For Bamboo Airways, Business tickets are also free to change. Other types of tickets will have an additional fee.
The fastest way is to contact the agent where you purchased the ticket for support on changing information and paying additional fees if any.
