I. For international flights
All passengers (regardless of nationality) when taking international flights are required to carry the following identification documents:
- Passport.
- Travel documents.
- Other valuable documents related to entry and exit as prescribed such as separate visas, permanent residence cards, temporary residence cards, or citizen identification cards.
- If the child does not have a separate passport, information about the child's full name, date of birth and photo will be recorded and pasted into the passport of the legal representative, including: father, mother, adoptive father, adoptive mother or guardian.

II. For domestic flights
1. Foreign passengers must bring one of the following valid documents:
- Passport, visa, permanent residence card, temporary residence card, APEC card (except visa exemption);
- Identity card issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to diplomatic officials;
- International driving license or issued by Vietnam;
- Long-term airport security card;
- Vietnam Airlines card;
- Level 2 electronic identification account;
- If the passport is lost, a diplomatic note from the diplomatic or consular agency of the country of the passenger's nationality or an official letter from the foreign affairs department (with confirmation from the local police agency where the passenger lost the passport) confirming the passenger's identity and the loss of the passport, with a photo and a seal. The official note and confirmation letter are valid for 30 days from the date of confirmation.
2. Vietnamese passengers aged 14 and over must bring one of the following documents:
- Passport or travel document;
- Removable visa, permanent residence card, temporary residence card;
Identity card or identity card; - Certificate from the police or military;
- National Assembly delegate card, party membership card, journalist card;
- Driver's license issued by Vietnam;
- Long-term airport security card;
- Card from the Aviation Security Committee;
- Certificate of identity confirmed by the police of the ward or commune where they are permanently or temporarily residing, in which the confirmation paper shows the following information: confirming agency, confirming person; date, month, year of confirmation; full name, date of birth, gender, hometown, permanent residence of the confirmed person; reason for confirmation. The above confirmation papers and certificates must have a photo attached, be stamped on the edge and are only valid within 30 days from the date of confirmation or certification;
- Certificate of competent authority on execution of sentence;
- Level 2 electronic identification account.

3. Vietnamese passengers under 14 years old or from 14 to 20 days old must bring one of the following valid documents:
- Birth certificate.
- Extract of household registration.
- Extract of birth registration information.
- Confirmation of household registration information.
- Birth certificate if under 2 months old.
- Level 2 electronic identification account.
- Personal information of the passenger in the Level 2 electronic identification account of the father, mother or guardian traveling on the same flight.
- Confirmation from a social organization for children under their care (valid for 6 months).
- A personal identification certificate confirmed by the police agency, in which the confirmation paper contains information showing the following information: confirming agency, confirming person; date, month, year of confirmation; full name, date of birth, gender, permanent residence of the confirmed person; reason for confirmation. The confirmation paper is valid for 30 days from the date of confirmation.
- Identity card, ID card or passport (alone or with parents).
III. Document conditions
- The above identification documents must be originals, have photos and are still valid.
- In case of using birth certificates or birth certificates, such documents can be originals or certified copies according to the provisions of law.
